On the correction table, the gray level 8-250 of multilevel input image data is set in a reference range, the gray level of control data corresponding to multilevel input image data not higher than a low gray level reference value Su is entirely set at 0, and the gray level of control data corresponding to multilevel input image data not lower than a high gray level reference value St is entirely set at 255. At the time of correcting multilevel input image data into control data with reference to the correction table, the image processing section 22 corrects the multilevel input image data of gray level 0-8 entirely into control data of 0 gay level and corrects the multilevel input image data of gray level 250-255 entirely into control data of 255 gray level.
