PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire effectively reducing the tire weight without deteriorating the durability of a belt. SOLUTION: This pneumatic radial tire is provided with an inner liner 6, a carcass 4 circumscribing the inner liner 6, a belt 7, one or more cap layers 8 covering the belt 7 over nearly the whole width, and a tread 9. The belt 7 comprises belt layers 7a and 7b coated with rubber on monofilament cords. The rubber thickness D between the monofilament cords located on adjacent belt layers 7a and 7b is set to 1.5-5 times the diameter d of each monofilament cord. |
