PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid absorbing core suitably suitable for a absorbing- type heating evaporation apparatus. SOLUTION: A liquid absorbing core 1 has a fiber-made liquid absorbing layer 2 at the center, and the layer 2 is covered with a woven braid 3 of fibers. The fiber-made liquid absorbing layer is constituted of a fiber aggregate A having a percentage of void of >=30% in an ordinary state, and the percentage of diameter reduction of >=10% with a fastening strength of 50 kg, and a fiber aggregate B having a percentage of void of <=20% in an ordinary state, and the percentage of diameter reduction of <=30% with a fastening strength of 50 kg. Further, the percentage of diameter reduction of the fiber aggregate A is larger than that of the fiber aggregate B.
