PURPOSE: A film attachment method is provided to cut and attach a wide film in a rapid and reliable manner while the film is protected from becoming loose, by permitting the rotating blade and fixed blade to cooperate with each other to cut the film through a single rotation of the rotating blade. CONSTITUTION: A film attachment method comprises the steps of cutting a front end of a film perpendicularly to the film feed direction; disposing the front end of the film to a front end of a main vacuum plate serving as a film feeder member, and adsorbing the front end of the film; permitting the film feeder member to approach the film attachment surface of the substrate, and feeding the front end of the film; attaching the front end of the film to the film attachment position; separating the film feeder member from the film attachment surface of the substrate by releasing the film feeder member from adsorption, and pressing the front end of the film by using a roller; adsorbing the film, while synchronizing the film feed speed with the movement speed of the film feeder member; cutting the film perpendicularly to the film feed direction through a rotating cutter, while protecting the film from becoming loose; and attaching the rear end of the cut film to the film attachment surface of the substrate by using the roller.
