<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base station modulator and demodulator that logically multiplies ATM cells at a plurality of base stations to the common carrier leased line between host stations, terminates the ATM cell to be transmitted to oneself in the master base station, and at the same time achieves ATM cell transmission/reception to the slave base station for eliminating unprofitable use in the common carrier leased line for the base station where the utilization band of the ATM cell between the host stations is reduced, and a method that transmits and receives the ATM cell. SOLUTION: This base station modulator and demodulator has a master reception processing section 9 that terminates the ATM cell to be sent to the base station A in the ATM cells received from the host station via the common carrier leased line, a slave transmission processing section 10 that transmits the ATM cell to be sent to the base station B in the ATM cells received from the host station via the common carrier leased line, and a cell multiple section 19 that multiplies the ATM cells of the plurality of base stations for transmitting to the host station via the common carrier leased line.</p> |
