摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device to change the operational characteristics of a nozzle, by selectively adjusting an effective channel area of the exhaust nozzle of an aircraft engine. SOLUTION: This control device includes a chamber having a hollow interior, plural outlet passages extending from the hollow interior of the chamber to a spot inside an exhaust nozzle, and an adjustable inlet extending from a pressurized air source to the hollow interior of the chamber to send the jet of the pressurized air. The inlet directs the pressurized air to one or more outlet passages selected from the plural outlet passages, and sends the air to one or more corresponding spots inside the exhaust nozzle through one or more outlet passages. Thereby, the nozzle can be adjusted so as to change its operational characteristics.
