PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately maintain the temperature of the reflection type liquid crystal panels of R, G and B constant by causing the heat of the reflection type liquid crystal panels of R, G and B to dissipate in response to the intensity of the light energy of the input light of R, G and B respectively made incident on the reflection type liquid crystal panels of R, G and B. SOLUTION: Paying attention to the fact that the light energy of the input light of R, G and B made incident on the reflection type liquid crystal panels 12, 13 and 14 of R, G and B is nearly Eb>=Eg>Er, heat radiation characteristics θr, θg and θb of the heat radiating mechanisms 21, 22 and 23 of R, G and B for radiating the heat from the back surface sides opposite to the light input/ output surfaces of the reflection-type liquid crystal panels 12, 13 and 14 of R, G and B are set to be θb>=θg>θr in response to the intensity of the light energy of the input light. |
