PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the tone of the dark portions of the images displayed on a monitor uniform. SOLUTION: The regulation value of the brightness of the monitor is so set that the difference between the first brightness when a first gradation is displayed on the monitor and the second brightness when a second gradation is displayed thereon is kept at a specified value from both of the brightness.
