PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna device which is constituted of a sleeve and an element and can efficiently transmit and receive radio waves and to provide a method for adjusting the device. SOLUTION: The conductive section of the antenna device is constituted of a first waveguide section, in which the core wire of a coaxial cable is set to a prescribed length and a second waveguide section, one end of which is connected to the shielded wire of the coaxial cable and which is extended in the direction opposite to the extended direction of the first waveguide section. The second waveguide section is constituted of a first metallic pipe and a second metallic pipe which is slidably attached to the first metallic pipe. The length of the first waveguide section is adjusted by cutting the core wire, so that the efficiency becomes a prescribed value or higher at a communicating frequency, and in addition, the length of the second waveguide section is adjusted by sliding the second metallic pipe on the first metallic pipe, so that the efficiency becomes a prescribed value or higher.
