PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure smooth inserting abilities of control rods and provide safe nuclear reactor operation by suppressing horizontal displacement of a fuel assembly for a nuclear reactor during an earthquake. SOLUTION: This skeletal structure of the fuel assembly 30 for the pressurized water reactor has an upper nozzle 31, a lower nozzle 33, a plurality of mutually parallel guide tubes 35 with respective both ends connectively fixed to both nozzles, and support grids 37 fixed to the guide tubes 35. The support grids 37 have grid openings individually accepting the guide tubes 35 and a plurality of axially extending bulges are formed on outer faces of the guide tubes 35 with substantially equal circumferential intervals.
