PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly accurate position detecting system and a position detecting method. SOLUTION: This position detecting system is characterized by being equipped with receivers RS1, RS2 for receiving a first signal from an object 3 whose position is to be detected and second signals from plural positions RFi whose positions are confirmed beforehand, and a position detection means 5 for detecting the position of the object 3 by using the first signal and the second signals received by the receivers RS1, RS2.
