A data transfer system for distribution of real time data between a plurality of electronically connected devices. The data transfer system comprises a data bus for transporting digital data from a first device to a second device and a clock distribution circuit for distributing a digital clock signal associated with the digital data. A microcontroller is programmed to control the clock distribution circuit and the data bus. The clock distribution circuit is configured to receive a digital clock signal from any one of the devices having a digital clock and to distribute it to any device capable of receiving the digital clock signal.
