A modular fence panel provides a rigid frame (8) supporting flexible and resilient sheet plastic (2) that is stretched over and secured to the frame (8) to create a visually open, yet resilient barrier. Each modular unit is provided with a connector (7') for joining together one ore more juxtaposed modular units or for attachment to an available stationary fixture such as a wall (10) or furniture frame. The connectors may permit junctions between units in freely selectable angled relationships or assembly in a matrix. Connections may be hinged or stationary, while others may provide a releasable latch (15), allowing a modular unit to serve as an access gate, construction panel, or furniture panel.
