An optical disc drive apparatus comprising a skew servo mechanism M1 in which one end portions of a pair of parallel running guide shaft members for slidably guiding an optical pickup unit are slidably secured to a chassis on which a spindle motor having the turn table is mounted to be rotationally driven in the radial direction by a pair of pivot members, and then, based on the result detected by a skew detecting means, the other end portions of the pair of the guide shaft members are rotatably driven in the radial direction by the first and second cam surfaces of a sliding cam which is slidably driven in the direction orthogonally intersecting the pair of the guide shafts.
