A cigar cutter (1) for the fresh cutting of a cigar head before the enjoyment of the cigar has a cutting tool (4) located in a housing (2) that serves for cutting a hole with a circular section in the cigar head coaxially to the axis of the cigar and for removing the tobacco from the hole. A drill is provided as a cutting tool. The drill is connected with a body force-driven or motor force-driven drive device (3) which sets this into operation in a rotary cutting movement. A feed device is provided, parallel to the axis of the drill which advances the path for a relative feed movement.
