<p>A process for producing a protein decomposition product by which a protein (including peptides) in a sample can be quickly and efficiently decomposed. A protein-containing sample is treated with a protease in the presence of a tetrazolium compound to give a protein decomposition product. Further, the glycated protein can be quickly quantified by reacting the glycated moiety of the glycated protein thus obtained with fructosyl amino acid oxidase and monitoring this redox reaction. As the tetrazolium compound as described above, use can be made of 2-(4-iodophenyl)-3-(2,4-dinitrophenyl)-5-(2,4-disulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazooium salt, etc.</p> |
