NOVEL STRAIN OF BACILLUS MEGATERIUM PS352 ISOLATED FROM SOY BEAN PASTE

PURPOSE: Provided is a novel strain, Bacillus megaterium PS352 isolated from soybean paste. Also, provided are feed additives and feedstuffs containing the strain as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION: Bacillus megaterium PS352 (KFCC-11179) has a strong antibacterial activity to various pathogenic microorganisms and resistance to various antibiotics, bile and artificial gastric juice. It has wide ranges of growth temperature and pH. A feed stuff contains the strain producing at least one enzyme selected from the group consisting of amylase, protease, xylanase, pectinase, beta-glucanase and phytase, thus its efficiency is increased.
