PURPOSE: A method of saving remaining coins of a pay phone is provided to connect the pay phone with a remaining coin processor to accumulate remaining coins according to each user, when a user dials a remaining coin processing service number, so that the users can select the accumulated coins for various purpose. CONSTITUTION: If coins remain in a state of a handset being turned on(S301, S302), a controller reads the amount of the coins(S303). The controller checks whether a user selects a service mode(S304). If so, the user inputs a self ID according to an announcing direction(S305) and a password(S306). A remaining coin processor decides whether the received ID and the password are the same(S307). If so, the user selects a service menu(S312). If the user selects a remaining coin saving item among menus(S313), the remaining coin processor stores the remaining coins for the user(S314).
