METHOD FOR PRODUCING OXYGEN-CONTAINING COMPOUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem on the separation of an organic phase (containing an oxygen-containing compound) and an aqueous phase (containing a catalyst) in the conventional process for the production of the oxygen- containing compound from an olefin by an oxidation reaction in binary organic- aqueous phases in the presence of a palladium catalyst, and provide a method for producing the oxygen-containing compound, capable of reusing the separated catalyst to the next reaction as it is. SOLUTION: The method for the production of an oxygen-containing compound comprises the oxidation reaction of an olefin compound in a binary organic-aqueous phase using a palladium compound as a catalyst wherein the aqueous phase is an aqueous solution of a polyamide.
