PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic having an excellent feeling in use such as free from a sticky feeling, imparting a wet feeling and improving smooth and soft feelings. SOLUTION: The hair cosmetic contains octyldodecyl lactate of formula (I), and an amido amine compound of general formula (II) R1CONH(CH2)mN(R2)2 (II) (wherein, R1CO is a 13-23C saturated or unsaturated higher aliphatic acid residue (acyl group); R2 is a 1-4C alkyl; and m is an integer of 2-4) or a quaternary ammonium salt of general formula (III) (wherein, R3 is a 14-22C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl; R4, R5 and R6 are each independently a 1-3C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl, or benzyl; and X is a halogen or a 1-2C alkyl sulfate group).
