摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal alignment agent used for the formation of a liquid crystal alignment film which is capable of giving a liquid crystal alignment capability by the irradiation with linearly polarized radioactive rays without any rubbing treatment and which has excellent thermal stability. SOLUTION: The agent contains a cellulose derivative having a specific structure which is sensitive for radioactive rays as a side chain.
