<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing a drop in a yield while obtaining an effect to restrain the meandering of a material (strip) to be rolled when threading the tail end of the strip through a hot rolling mill. SOLUTION: The meandering of the tail end of the strip to be rolled is prevented by varying the thickness of the strip at the exit of the final rolling stand of the mill by a given amount when the tail end of the strip passes the mill having a plurality of rolling stands. In this method, a strip thickness variationΔhi at a rolling stand other than the final rolling stand is calculated based on a previously given thickness variationΔhn, a strip speed Vi at the entry of a rolling stand number 'i' other than the final rolling stand, a target strip thickness hi at the exist of the final rolling stand, and a strip thickness hi at the rolling stand number 'i' other than the final rolling stand. Then roll intervals at each rolling stand are adjusted by roll interval adjusting equipment to obtain theΔhi andΔhn.</p> |
