SMALL PIECE OF POLYESTER RESIN FOAM AND MOLDINGS OF FOAM PIECES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small piece of a polyester resin foam which is formed into moldings of foam pieces with good biodegradability revealing itself upto the interior of the moldings as well as the moldings of foam pieces. SOLUTION: The small pieces of a polyester resin foam are characterized in that the polyester resin containing at least 60 mol.% aliphatic ester component in the main chain is a base material resin and the ratio (Dt/Db) of the true density Dt (g/cm3) to the bulk density Db (g/cm3) is 1.7-3 and the average weight of one small piece of the foam is 1-10 mg and further, the bulk density Db (g/cm3) is 0.008-0.035 g/cm3. The moldings of the small pieces of the polyester resin foam having communicating spaces are obtained by filling a molding die with the small pieces of the polyester resin foam and thermally molding the small pieces.
