PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine that is capable of fine control with a limited storage capacity since the capacity of a storage section is limited although conditions such as the water flow and time of washing and rinsing are set according to an amount-of-load detection result but all setting values need to be stored at the storage section to finely specify the conditions. SOLUTION: An amount-of-load sensor, and a reference data storage section 32 for storing the data of a plurality of amount-of-load criteria in advance are provided, the judged amount of load is accumulated for a fixed number of times, the accumulated amount of load is averaged, a plurality of subdivision criterion data are created, and the succeeding judgment of the amount of load is made by comparing the detection output of the amount-of-load sensor and the data of the subdivision criterion.
