PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium of ROM compatible which has high modulation and enables execution of writing in the behavior of high to low, in regard to the optical recording medium which has at least a recording layer and a reflecting layer formed on a base and of which an optical constant of the recording material constituting the recording layer is changed for recording and reproduction of information by casting an energy beam on the material. SOLUTION: An alloy selected from elements Ag, Ga and Se is made the main element of the recording material, while the material of the reflecting layer is constituted mainly of Ni, Zn, BiTe, SnTe, Sn, Si, In or Sb. |
