PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyphenylene sulfide(PPS) resin composition having not only characteristics of a polyphenylene sulfide such as injection moldability and mechanical characteristics such as strength, but also excellent sliding characteristics such as friction and abrasion characteristics, possessed by a general sliding material consisting essentially of a polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE). SOLUTION: This PPS resin composition is obtained by filling a PTFE powder obtained by baking the PTFE at a temperature equal to or higher than the melting point thereof, and having >=1,500,000 number average molecular weight and 2-800μm average particle diameter, or PTFE particles consisting of core parts capable of being fibrillated, and composed of a high molecular weight PTFE with >=1,500,000 number average molecular weight, and sheath parts not being fibrillated and composed of a low molecular weight PTFE, and having 0.05-1μm average particle diameter, so that the content in the composition containing the PPS as a matrix may be 40-80 wt.%, and has >=0.01 melt flow rate at 300 deg.C measuring temperature.
