PURPOSE: A shadow mask frame assembly of a cathode ray tube is provided to mitigate impacts by arranging dual shadow mask frames and inserting elastic elements between the frames. CONSTITUTION: A shadow mask frame assembly of a cathode ray tube comprises a shadow mask(12) having many mask holes(12a), a first mask frame(18), a second mask frame(20), and elastic elements(22). The first mask frame(18) supports the shadow mask(12) and has a plane part(18a). The second mask frame(20) elastically support the assembly of the first mask frame(18) and the first mask frame(18). The elastic elements(22) are fixed on the rear side of the plane part(18a). Each of the elastic elements(22) has two cylinders, a movable cylinder(22a) and a fixed cylinder(22b), and an elastic body(22c). The movable cylinder(22a) is mounted on the rear side of the first mask frame(18). The fixed cylinder(22b) is mounted on the second mask frame(20) and inserted into the movable cylinder(22b). The elastic body(22c) is arranged between the two cylinders(22a,22b).
