The support for use when sawing a piece of wood (4) comprises two identical Z-shaped components. One limb (34) of the Z fits over the edge of e.g. a table (5), the body (22) is supported by its surface and the other limb (24) of the Z, which has a sloping inner edge (23) rests against the wood. This can therefore be kept in position with one hand during sawing.
