PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device which can properly record reproduced music data while protecting the copyright, etc. SOLUTION: A CD unit 1 supplies the music data reproduced from a CD to an MD unit 2 through a digital signal line 11 and an analog signal line 12. The MD unit 2 selects the digital signal or analog signal supplied from the CD unit 1 and records the music data on an MD according to the selected signal. A control microcomputer 3 controls the CD unit 1 to obtain copy management information prescribed in each piece of music data on the CD and store the obtained copy management information into a RAM. The control microcomputer 3 controls the MD unit 2 according to the stored copy management information to make the MD unit 2 select the digital or analog signal and then perform the digital or analog recording of the music data. |
