PURPOSE: A telephone for confirming the safety of old people is provided to confirm the safety of the old people and decrease the worry of family by automatically dialing a previously inputted telephone number of the family or a lifesaving institution when the old people do not watch a TV over a uniform time and notifying the safety of the old people. CONSTITUTION: A power supply unit(11) is installed in a telephone body for supplying the power. An infrared sensor light-receiving unit(12) is installed at an external front surface of the telephone body and has a photo transistor for reacting to an infrared LED of a TV remote controller. A timer and microcomputer circuit unit(13) resets a current time as 00 hour 00 minute when a signal of the infrared LED is sensed in the infrared sensor light-receiving unit(12). An automatic dialing circuit unit(14) automatically dials a previously inputted telephone in case that the current time of the timer is 23 hours 59 minutes because old people do not watch a TV during 24 hours.
