PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method for appropriately reproducing colors, even if the color of an exterior lighting is changed and to provide an image display device and a recording medium. SOLUTION: The image display device performing a desired picture processing on inputted image data and displaying in image measures output characteristics for respective color components in the image display device and the color component ratios of the prescribed exterior lighting by a measuring means. A correction curve generating means generates a correction curve correcting the output characteristics, so that the difference in the measured respective color component ratios of the exterior lighting is dissolved. Then, image processing is performed on input image data, based on the correction curve generated.
