PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the magnetic domain transfer from a recording layer to a reproduction layer can hardly be controlled due to unstable mask formation in the reproduction layer unless proper thermal control is performed in a non-magnetic intermediate layer, since the mask formation is largely affected by the temperature distribution of the reproduction layer and the thermal control of the non-magnetic layer largely affects the temperature distribution though it is necessary to form the proper mask in magnetic domain transfer from the recording layer to the reproduction layer for obtaining high resolution because thermal control is difficult in the non- magnetic intermediate layer as a magneto-optical recording medium has a multi-layer structure in a magnetic super resolution technique and a magnetic domain extending/ reproduction technique. SOLUTION: In the magneto-optical recording medium, which is provided with a recording layer where information is recorded on a substrate and performs at least one of the recording or reproducing of information by being irradiated with light, a non-magnetic thermal conductive intermediate layer of >=20Wm-1K-1 thermal conductivity is laminated at the light incident side of the recording layer, and the reproduction layer is laminated at the light incident side from a conductive intermediate layer, thus a magnetic domain transferred from the recording layer is extended and reproduced.
