PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin packer capable of preventing the generation of waste packing of collected coins less or more than the predetermined number of coins, unnecessary coins to a packing part, packing failure due to a fall of a foreign material into the packing part and a breakdown of a machinery by monitoring the coins and the foreign material to be fallen into the packing part, and detecting the unnecessary coins to the packing part and a fall of the foreign material. SOLUTION: This coin packer has an approach preventing shutter 19 provided between a collection part and a packing part freely to be opened and closed so as to prevent the approach of coins from the collection part to the packing part by closing and so as to allow the approach of the coins from the collection part to the packing part by opening, and has a sensor 30 for monitoring the coins and foreign materials passing through the opened approach preventing shutter 19.
