PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the conventional radio receiver has produced noise signals which results in causing troubles at the moment channel selection is finished, when a broadcast station broadcasting a weak radio wave is selected manually. SOLUTION: The radio receiver is provided with a front end section, that converts a signal with a reception frequency into an intermediate frequency signal, an intermediate frequency amplifier section that amplifies the intermediate frequency signal, an FM demodulation section that demodulates the intermediate frequency signal, converts it into an audio signal and provides an output of a tuned signal and a reception level signal, a DC amplifier section that amplifies the reception level signal, a multiplexer section that demultiplexes the audio signal received from the FM demodulation section and outputs the demultiplexed signals via signal lines of two-systems, an output variable section that varies the output signal level of the audio signal and a control section that controls the change in the reception frequency of the front end section and controls the output signal level of the output variable section, on the basis of the reception level signal outputted from the DC amplifier section, when no tuned signal is outputted.
