PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that detects the presence of an original placed upside down and stops an image forming operation which can inform an operator about the presence of the original placed upside down. SOLUTION: When a scanner 6 starts reading the image information of an original and a RAM25 stores the read image, a CPU21 discriminates whether number of black data counted by a counter 30 is smaller than a specified value N (S300-306). When the number of black data is greater than the specified value (N: S306), the presence of the image information is discriminated (S316) and copying is carried out (S318). When the number of black data is smaller than the specified value (Y: S306), the absence of the image information is discriminated (S308), and copying is stopped (S310). The CPU21 displays the absence of image information on the original on a display section 36, until an operator again depresses a start button 35 (S312), to bring the image forming device to a standby state (S314). |
