PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the safety and reliability by enabling detection of a malfunction of a charging circuit to be charged by a charging power source, and detection of a malfunction of a switch connected in parallel to the charging circuit, or malfunction of a load as well. SOLUTION: This charging power device is provided with a charging circuit 2 composed of a capacitor, a charging power source 1 for charging the charging circuit 2, a load 4 to which electric energy stored in the charging circuit 2 by charging is supplied, a switch 3 for controlling supply of the electric energy to the load 4, and means 10-14 for detecting a malfunction of the charging circuit 2 on the basis of the electric energy of the charging circuit 2 and outputting a malfunction detection signal.
