The invention relates to a method for installing cables (2) in cable ducts (6) using installing devices (1,1a,1b and 1c) propelling the cables (2) in the ducts (6). According to the invention, the installing devices (1;1a:; 1b and 1c) are driven by pressurized fluid, the air for example, transported in ducts (6), consequently a smaller number of compressors (4) and operators is required. In order to transport the pressurized fluid, the duct (6), wherein the cable (2) is installed and/or parallel ducts may be used. In a duct section, the cable insertion direction (shown by a double arrow ) may coincide with the fluid transportation direction (shown by a single arrow) or may be contrary to it. The invention also provides the installating devices (1) used in the method.
