A conveyor (19) conveys the inner book (2) from a transfer point to a delivery point. Separately from each other the front and back part of each side of the inner book is adjustable in height by means of an appliance controlling the clamping rails (3) on the inner books' plane. Coupling levers (4), adjustable in length, are linked to the ends of the clamping rails and are pivot-mounted (5) on a carriage (6) driven (8) on a linear guide (7). The free ends of the levers have rollers (13) separately guided along height-adjustable control-tracks (14,15) by means of adjustments (17).
