Rows of indentations (22) are formed on each flat face (18,20) of each flat tube (12). The indentations serve as vortex generators. Each indentation inclines relative to the tube longitudinal axis at angles of 10 to 40 degrees. The ratio between the indentation height and the tube height ranges from 0.05 to 0.5. The indentations in each row alternately incline to opposite directions. Independent claims are included for the following: (a) an automotive cooling system for an engine; (b) and a motor vehicle.
