APPARATUS FOR TRANSFERRING OPTICAL CABLE BY AIR PRESSURE, AND CONSTRUCTION METHOD BY AIR PRESSURE TRANSFER USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically and continuously amount pressure receiving plates over the entire length of an optical cable at nearly regular intervals during laying the optical cable by using low air pressure transfer. SOLUTION: The pressure plates are mounted on the optical cable under laying according to the processes of: (i) inserting a necessary number of pressure plates 7 on the optical cable 3 within a pressure transfer head 5 for the construction work, (ii) pressing down the first pressure plate 7' of a pressure plate group with an elastic stopper 9, and gripping a second pressure plate 7" by a pressure mechanism 10 for holding pressure plates to stop the succeeding pressure plate groups, (iii) fixing the first pressure plate 7' on the optical cable 3 by a pressure mechanism 20 for mounting pressure plates at every suitable and nearly regular intervals on the optical cable 3 to be constructed, (iv) making the pressure mechanism 10 for holding a pressure plate into an inactive state, and displaying pressure plate groups to the position of the elastic stopper 9 after the fixed first pressure plate 7' has passed the elastic stopper 9, and (v) repeating the above operations (ii) through (iv).
