PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a new authentication device using a micro-heater and an electronic lock device using the authentication device. SOLUTION: A plurality of grooves 2 are formed onto an approximately flat substrate 1, resistors thermally insulated from the substrate 1 and formed of thin-films are installed to each groove 2, and a plurality of the micro-heaters 3 with means making a current flow through the resistors, elevating a temperature and measuring the temperature are formed. The micro-heaters 3 and plates 10, to which a plurality of opening recessed sections 11 are formed to surfaces in a shape that the plates can be stuck fast at fixed positions on the substrate 1 approximately, are combined. Electricity is supplied through a plurality of the micro-heaters 3 when the substrate 1 and the plates 10 are stuck fast, the presence of the opening recessed sections 11 of the plates 10 in sections opposed to the micro-heaters 3 is read by the difference of the temperature rise of the micro-heaters, and whether or not the opening recessed sections 11 coincide with a previously stored pattern can be compared.
