[Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v).] The cooling jacket 2 comprises a valve 6 through which the cooling liquid can pass in one direction only. A liquid-operated switch may be provided ; upon failure of the cooling-liquid supply, the movement of a float 12 is transmitted to a contact 14 through levers 10, 13 to close a circuit comprising a solenoid 18 which, when energized, opens a circuit containing the primary winding 22 of the supply transformer.
