PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide method capable of accurately and quickly inserting and positioning an inserting device being capable of inserting an element into the ground easily at a low cost. SOLUTION: The equipment and method comprise a step of establishing a topographical point 8 and determines the coordinates of the point 8 in an X, Y, Z frame of reference; a step of locating a measuring station 3 at a predetermined position near a structure and determines the X, Y, Z position of the measuring station 3 by referring to one or more topographical points 8; a step of determining the distance and angle between the inserting device 1 and the measuring station 3 by the measuring station 3, a step of calculating the position of the device 1 from the measured distance and the known position of the measuring station 3, and a step of displacing the inserting device 1 in order to correctly register the element 2 on the insertion axis having a predetermined position for inserting the element into the ground.
