PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving auxiliary device for an elevator capable of easily and safely adjusting comfortableness without using a heavy weight. SOLUTION: When a worker adjusts the comfortableness of the elevator, the elevator is operated in the zero state of load mass in a car, and a motor 14 of a counterweight 4B is controlled. Specified mass unbalance is artificially created between the counterweight 4 and the car 1 by adding lifting force equivalent to assigned mass, to the counterweight 4. Comfortableness adjusting work can thereby be performed while making an apparent change of car load without preparing a conventional weight.
