PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method and a measuring device for accurately measuring the deflection of an electrophotographic photoreceptor drum in a short time. SOLUTION: The deflection of the electrophotographic photoreceptor drum is measured by measuring a distance between a specified position on the outside of the photoreceptor drum and a measuring point on the side surface of the photoreceptor drum by using a distance measuring means for measuring the distance between the specified position and the photoreceptor drum while rotating the photoreceptor drum at fixed rotating speed, and calculating the eccentric amount and the eccentric direction of the outer peripheral surface of the photoreceptor drum to a virtual center axis linking the centers of fitting holes at both ends of the photoreceptor drum.
