PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constantly achieve desired assist characteristics and convergence characteristics, further improve follow-up performance by a steering wheel and the convergence characteristics, and achieve all these purposes at low cost in an electric power steering device for an automobile. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an assist control part 51 taking a steering wheel steering torque u multiplied by a gain Ka to be a controlled variable, a damping control part 52 taking a motor rotation speedωmultiplied by a gain Kd to be a controlled variable, a steering speed feedback control part 54 to operate a target motor rotation speed based on the steering wheel steering torque u, and determine a controlled variable based on deviation between the target motor rotation speed and the real motor rotation speedω, and a motor control part 53 to control an electric motor 22 based on a controlled variable obtained by addition and subtraction of above control quantities. |
