PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for inspecting an elevator control device, allowing easy distribution of a connecting cord without passing through a hall door part. SOLUTION: An under-car inspection lamp 4 is fitted to the lower part of a car 3 and lighted, and an inspection device 9 detecting the put-out state of the under-car inspection lamp 4 and outputting a start signal to a control operation start signal input terminal 8 is disposed at an elevator shaft bottom part 2. In the lighted state of the under-car inspection lamp 4, the car 3 is stopped at a lowermost floor and then operated to ascend while putting out the under- car inspection lamp 4, and the start signal is supplied to control operation through the start signal input terminal 8 from the inspection apparatus detecting the put-out state of the under-car inspection lamp 4.
