PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat vaporization type humidifier capable of correctly detecting the failure of a circulating pump and a failure detection method therefor. SOLUTION: The vaporization humidifier comprises a water tank 7 for always containing a certain amount of water, a heater 6 for heating the water in the water tank 7 to make it hot water, a water temperature detector 11 for measuring the temperature of the hot water, a vaporizing element 8 provided apart from the surface of water in the water tank 7, a circulating pump 9 for pumping up the water in the water tank 7 to feed it to the vaporizing element 8, and a blower fan 10 for discharging air through the vaporizing element 8. The failure of the circulating pump 9 is judged by operating the circulating pump 9 and the flower fan 10 after the temperature of the hot water reaches a predetermined temperature, and detecting the temperature transition of the hot water by way of the water temperature detector 11. |
