PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress decrease in a discharge speed and generation of errors of a pressure vibration period due to leakage of a pressure generated to ink chambers which are to discharge ink and suppress degradation in an image quality by density irregularities of images and errors in dot position by generating a predetermined pressure also in ink chambers which are not to discharge ink among ink chambers in a discharge interval. SOLUTION: First driving pulses P1 are applied to electrodes 13 of the ink chambers 12-2B and 12-3B, and at the same time, a third driving pulse P3 is applied to electrodes 13 of the ink chamber 12-1B. When a shear deformation in a direction expanding the ink chambers 12-2B and 12-3B is generated to diaphragms 11 constituting the ink chambers 12-2B and 12-3B, a shear deformation in a direction expanding the ink chamber 12-1B is generated to a diaphragm 11 constituting the ink chamber 12-1B. The pressure generated at the ink chamber 12-2B is suppressed not to leak to the adjacent ink chamber 12-2A in a non discharge interval, thereby preventing the error in dot position on a recording medium due to an ink discharge speed difference.
