METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING ORGANISM-ORIGIN ORGANIC WASTE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating organism-origin organic wastes whereby the organism-origin organic wastes can be treated with good efficiency to recover valuables therefrom. SOLUTION: The sludge produced in an organism treatment facility by treatment with aerobic microbes is concentrated by means of a sludge concentration means 13. The concentrated sludge is mixed with high-pressure water at a temperature of at least 200 deg.C in a hydrothermal reaction means 14 to hydrolyze it so as to be soluble and to thereby elute phosphoric acid and ammoniac nitrogen therefrom. The liquid solubilized by the hydrothermal reaction is adjusted to an alkaline pH of 9 or higher by a phosphorus fixation means 15, and magnesium hydroxide is added. Magnesium ammonium phosphate is precipitated and is recovered by a solid/liquid separation means 16, and the filtrate is returned to an aeration tank through a transfer pipe 12. The phosphorus and nitrogen components are fully eluted from the waste, so that magnesium ammonium phosphate as a value can be recovered at an improved efficiency.
